La batalla y la debilidad del anciano.

En romanos 7:14-26, Paul wrote to the saints in Rome about the battle and the weakness of the old man. Paul wrote about the old man, who is carnal and is ruled by his sinful nature and a slave of sin and death. The old man walks after the flesh and is led by his senses, pensamientos, emociones, feelings etc. The sinful nature in the flesh rules over the anciano and determines his speech and actions. Therefore the old man can’t please God and can’t bear el fruto of righteousness for God. Because everything that comes forth is corrupted by evil (naturaleza pecaminosa). The old man walks after the will of the flesh in sin and bears fruit for the death.

La batalla y la debilidad del anciano.

Paul describes the battle and the weakness of the old man, ¿Quién es carnal?. But Paul not only describes the battle and weakness of the old man, who is a slave and prisoner of the sinful nature that is present in the flesh. But Paul also describes how to be redeemed from this sinful nature that is present in the flesh and that always strive against the Spirit and the things of the Kingdom of God.

El anciano es crucificado en Cristo.

In Roman 7:14-26, Paul didn’t write about the battle of the new creation; el nuevo hombre, who is born in the Spirit, but he wrote about the battle ofEl viejo hombre carnal.

Paul was a Pharisee. Por lo tanto, Paul had a lot of head knowledge of the word of God. He served God from the law.

Paul knew the letter, but Paul didn’t know the living Word; Jesucristo.

Until Jesus revealed Himself to Paul, who persecuted Jesus.

Paul repented and made Jesus Christ Saviour and Lord over his life. The old man Saul died in Jesus Christ and the new man Paul rose from the dead, en él (Leer también: ‘¿Qué es el arrepentimiento??', ‘El anciano‘ y ‘Ponte el hombre nuevo') .

En ninguna parte de la Biblia, did Paul, nor Jesus and the other apostles, say that the law wasn’t good. De lo contrario, Paul said that the law is holy and the commandments are holy, righteous and good (Oh. romanos 7:12).

The only thing is, that the way to become righteous and the way of salvation is no longer through the law, but through Christ. You can’t be saved and be made righteous by keeping the law.

The law is spiritual

You can only be saved through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and become nacido de nuevo in Christ and live after His will. The law was given by God to His carnal people. But the essence of the law is spiritual. As long as a person stays carnal, the person shall not be able to understand the essence of the law. Let alone to establish the law (Leer también: ¿Cómo se establece la ley??)

Solo el hombre nuevo, que nace del agua y del Espíritu, is able to walk after the Spirit. Caminando en pos del Espíritu, the person will establish the law.

The new man shall not consider the commandments of God as legalistic and as a set of religious old-fashioned rules, but as loving commandments, coming from the Father, that will produce life and peace (Leer también: ‘Dios dio Su Palabra por amor’)

Ahora, let’s have a look at Romans 7:14-8:4*.

I am doing the very thing I hate

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal (dominated by the sinful nature), sold under sin (naturaleza pecaminosa). For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin (La naturaleza pecaminosa) that dwells in me.

despoja al viejo que es corrupto

For I know that in me (eso es, in my flesh) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not (because the sinful nature reigns and determines man’s speech and actions. The natural carnal man is subjected to the flesh).

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin (La naturaleza pecaminosa) that dwells in me.

I find then a law, eso, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God (La Ley de Justicia y de Vida) after the inward man: But I see another law (Ley del pecado y de la muerte) in my members, warring against the law of my mind (La Ley de Justicia y de Vida), and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

The salvation of the old manwho is a slave of sin and death

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Por lo que la ley no pudo hacer, en que era débil por la carne (La naturaleza pecaminosa, that rules in the old carnal man), Dios enviando a su propio Hijo en semejanza de carne de pecado, y por el pecado, pecado condenado en la carne: Para que la justicia de la ley se cumpla en nosotros, que no andan según la carne (led by the sinful nature), pero según el Espíritu (led by the Holy Spirit (romanos 7:14-8:4)).

Cuando nazcas de nuevo, you will be redeemed from your sin nature, because your flesh has died in Christ and your spirit is raised from the dead.

Siempre y cuando permanezcas en Cristo y camines según el Espíritu, vivirás en la libertad de Cristo. But as soon as you sin and perseverar en el pecado, and be led by your sinful nature that dwells in your flesh, the devil and his law; el Ley del pecado y de la muerte will take dominion over your life.
