Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But you have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you (Přísloví 1:24-28)
The counsel of parents
How many times does it happen, that when a father counsels his child in order to protect his child by warning his child for danger, that the child is not willing to listen. Many times children are rebellious and want to discover and explore everything by themselves, instead of listening to the instruction of the father and obey him.
Za starých časů, most children respected their parents and obeyed them. Ale v dnešní době, we hardly see this anymore. There are a few exceptions, samozřejmě, but overall the respect for parents has seized. The child has an own will, and wants to follow and do his own will. Proto, many children have become rebellious against their parents. It doesn’t matter if parents provide good counsel, most children are not willing to listen.
The counsel of the Lord
It is the same with our heavenly Father, Who has given us everything. He stretched out His hand, He gave His counsel and His Word. But there are only a few, who are willing to listen at His counsel. There are only a few, who wants to receive His instruction and His reproof. Most believers go their own way and do what they want to do.
The time will come, that your life on this earth will come to an end. This can happen any day, at any time. Even if you’re young, there’s no guarantee, that you will have a long life. The question is: are you prepared to go?
When you call for Him, when fear and destruction; death is coming for you, and when distress and anguish will be taken hold of you, then it will be too late.
So make the right choice, while you can.
