Be not wise in thine own eyes: mcheni Bwana, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones (Methali 3:7-8)
Neno linakufunza, to no put your trust in your own wisdom and the worldly knowledge. Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Don’t put yourself on a pedestal, don’t be haughty, but exalt the Lord. Do all things out of Him, so that He will receive all the honour. Honour Him, instead of honouring yourself, or allowing others to honour you.
Fear the Lord and be obedient
Fear the Lord, and be obedient to Him. When you love the Lord with all your heart, akili, nafsi, na nguvu, you shall obey Him. You shall obey Amri zake, walk according to His will and depart from evil.
You shall not walk on the path of darkness, but you shall walk on the path of the Light. As long as you stay obedient, and live according to His will, then you shall walk on the path of light.
Therefore don’t be conformed to the ways of the world, but be partakers of the Kingdom of God and become a partaker of the divine nature. Set your affection on the things above, and not on the things on this earth. Don’t walk in darkness and don’t fellowship with the darkness. But be the light that shines in the darkness.
When you fear the Lord and obey the Lord, and depart from evil, then this shall be health to thy navel, and marrow (refreshment) for your bones.
