Throughout the years, the gospel of Jesus Christ and the faith have slowly been adjusted. Many false doctrines have entered the church and the lives of Christians. Because of that many Christians can’t endure sound doctrine. Many preachers are carnal and employed by man instead of God. They preach after the will of man instead of God’s will and please the people, so that they’ll stay in church. Because they know, that if they preach a message that calls for repentance and a change, and oppose the will of people, people become offended and won’t come back to the church. That’s why there aren’t many sermons about the true gospel of Jesus Christ, Ang kanyang gawaing pantubos, removal of sin, and sanctification. Jesus knew this. Therefore Jesus asked His disciples, when Jesus comes will He find faith on earth? Will Jesus find faith in the lives of Christians?
What happened with the church?
Instead of the church (Ang Assembly ng mga Mananampalataya) representing the Kingdom of God on earth, separating itself from the world and from sin, the church compromises with the world and lives in sin, tulad na lamang ng mundo. Many Christians hardly study and/or listen to the Bible; the Word of God and don’t apply the Word in their lives.
There aren’t many Christians, who are longing for a holy and righteous life, and just like Jesus, live in obedience to the Father. This is mainly because they are too busy with themselves. They only long for the power of God and the miracles Jesus did.
They want to be somebody and want to be seen, loved, and accepted by the world. Kaya nga, they do everything they can, to become famous and noticed by the world and to be liked and accepted by the world.
There is hardly any difference between believers and unbelievers
There is hardly any difference anymore between unbelievers, who live in darkness and have the devil as father and obey and serve him, and the church; the believers, who are supposed to live in the Light and have God as Father and obey and serve Him and Jesus Christ the Son.
Going to church once or twice a week, having a church membership and/or task in the church, supporting charities, doing humanitarian works, and having good behavior, will not make you a Christian. It won’t give you access to the Kingdom of God either.
Many people call themselves Christians and go to church and attend seminars and conferences and are ever learning, without coming to the knowledge of the truth.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timoteo 3:6-7)
Isn’t that awful? You think you are saved, while in reality you are not saved. You think you live according to the will of God, while you are not. How is that possible? It’s possible because many Christians have departed from the word of God, and that’s why they don’t know the truth.
They don’t know the real Jesus Christ; the holy Son of God and the living Word. But they have created an imaginary Jesus and serve this false Jesus, who is made after their image and has a lot of similarities with themselves.
They live in a big lie and feed themselves with more lies, to make their lives as comfortable as possible (Basahin mo rin: ‘A counterfeit Jesus produces counterfeit Christians’)
Many Christians walk in self-chosen ways
The sad truth is, that many Christians have left God’s Word. Kaya nga, they have left the faith in Jesus Christ; ang buhay na Salita, and have entered self-chosen ways. Many believers have become unbelievers. They don’t walk according to the will of God and His commandments anymore. They don’t live as born again Christians and don’t walk after the Spirit. But they are carnal and are led by the world and their own lusts, mga hangarin, mga damdamin, mga emosyon, at kalooban, and walk after their flesh.
What the people want happens. They are led by the flesh; their senses, mga emosyon, mga damdamin, mga pagnanasa, at mga hangarin. Their soul and body dictate to them what to do.
Because they remain the old man, they often end up in trouble.
But isn’t it so, that when you turned to Christ and repented and decided to follow Him, you have freely laid down your life in Christ and died to ‘self’? That it’s not about your will anymore, but about His will? (Basahin mo rin: ‘What if God’s will is not your will?‘)
Aren’t you risen and seated in Christ in the Heavenly places? Shouldn’t you represent the Kingdom of God and bring the Kingdom of God to this earth? Instead of enforcing the kingdom of the darkness (ang mundo)?
Denying Jesus’ perfect work of redemption
How many times, do preachers, pastors, mga ebanghelista, mga matatanda, atbp. say they believe in Jesus Christ and His work of redemption, while in reality, they deny Jesus’ perfect work of redemption. How do they deny Jesus’ perfect redemptive work? By considering themselves sinners, teaching the believers that they’ll always remain sinners, tolerating sin, and keep sinning themselves. How is that possible? If you have been made free from sin and become a servant of righteousness, how can you walk in sin and be a servant of sin (isang makasalanan)? (a.o. Mga Taga Roma 6:15-19, Mga Taga Roma 8:2)
The Bible says when you become a bagong paglikha; isang anak ng Diyos, you are no longer a sinner. You have been made holy and righteous by faith in Christ and by His blood. Because you’ve been made righteous, God gave you His Spirit, Who dwells in you (Ang Bagong Paglikha).
Bilang ang bagong paglikha, who is born of God and made righteous and has the Holy Spirit, you are able to walk as Jesus walked, as a son of God (Ito ay nalalapat sa parehong mga lalaki at babae) sa lupa.
But as long as you have an old carnal mindset and believe that you will always remain a sinner, you indirectly say, that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the cross was not perfect.
Di mo tuwirang sinasabi, that the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed at the whipping post and on the cross, was not powerful enough, to redeem humanity from sin and iniquity and their sinful nature.
When you say, that you are still a sinner, you don’t believe in Jesus Christ and His perfect work of redemption (Basahin mo rin: Do Christians believe in the resurrection from the dead?).
Everyone is born as a sinner
Oo nga, we are all born as sinners in the flesh. There is no one excluded. If people don’t believe this and contradict this they deceive themselves and lie (a.o. 1 John 1:8-10).
Every person is born as a sinner and remains a sinner until a person believes in Jesus Christ, repents, and becomes a new creation through His blood, ang binyag in water, and the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
When you become a new creation, you are no longer a sinner! You have freely laid down your old sinful nature and exchanged your life for His life; your will for His will. Now it’s up to you, to take up your cross and follow Jesus.
The faith is affected by the lies of man
Every time, when Christians take the words of God out of context, give their own explanation, and interpretation, and add their own opinion, the words become a twisted truth, which is no longer the truth.
Let’s take, halimbawa na lang, the parts in the Bible, when Jesus ate with the publicans and sinners. The Pharisees and the scribes saw Jesus eating with publicans and sinners (Mateo 8:9, Markahan 2:13, Lucas 5:29).
Maraming beses na, people say that Jesus ate with publicans and sinners and that Jesus was a friend of publicans and sinners (Lucas 7:34). Kaya nga, they are also allowed to hang out and fellowship with unbelievers and do the same things as they do. There’s nothing wrong with that.
But that’s not true. The truth is, that Jesus hung out with the publicans and sinners. But first of all, they were part of the house of Israel; God’s carnal people, who were set apart from all other pagan nations. They were not Gentiles.
Secondly, Jesus preached the Kingdom and the message of repentance and called the people to repentance. These publicans and sinners believed in Jesus Christ and gave heed to His call. They repented and turned from their evil works and committed their lives to God (Basahin mo rin: Was Jesus a Friend of Publicans?).
“Masdan, Panginoon, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold”
Zacchaeus was the chief among the publicans and was rich. When Zacchaeus repented, his repentance became visible through his words and deeds. Zacchaeus immediately gave half of his goods to the poor. And Zacchaeus said to Jesus, that if he had taken anything from any man by false accusation, he was even willing to restore him fourfold:
Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Masdan, Panginoon, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, for so much as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Lucas 19:8-10)
Jesus didn’t tolerate and accept sin. Jesus didn’t fellowship and wasn’t a partaker of their evil works. But Jesus called the people of the house of Israel to repentance.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Lucas 5:32)
although Jesus loves people, Jesus hates the works of the old man
Jesus loved people but Jesus hated the evil works (kasalanan ba) of the old carnal man, who belonged to the unfaithful fallen generation. He hated carnal works like adultery, pakikiapid, karumihan, kahalayan, pagsamba sa diyus diyusan, ang pangkukulam, galit na galit, variance, mga pagtulad, galit na galit, alitan, mga sedisyonal, mga erehe, inggit na inggit, mga pagpatay, lasing na lasing na, pag-reveling, anger, galit na galit, malice, kalapastanganan, filthy communication, atbp.
Jesus hated the works, which came forth out of the Adamic nature. Because they were against the will of the Father. And the truth is, that Jesus still hates sin, because Jesus has not changed. He has not changed and that’s why His point of view has not changed.
Jesus still hates sin, despite His work at the cross and His blood that was shed. Jesus didn’t die at the cross to approve and authorize people to continue in sin. But His perfect work and His blood ensured that whosoever would believe in Him, He gave the power to become a new creation; isang anak ng Diyos, and to reign together with Jesus Christ.
When Jesus returns, will He find faith on earth?
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble (James 2:19)
You can confess with your mouth all you want. But if your works and deeds don’t line up with your confessions and your repentance, then your confessions are worthless.
The devil and the fallen angels (mga demonyo) also believe in God, Si Jesus, at ang Banal na Espiritu. However, they are not saved. Their final destination is the eternal lake of fire.
When you say, that you believe in Jesus Christ, you shall live according to Ang Kanyang mga utos at gawin ang Kanyang kalooban.
You shall do, what the Word tells you to do, and not listen to and do what the world says.
You shall no longer be a partaker of the evil works of darkness and live like the world. But you shall separate yourselves from the world.
You shall put your trust in Jesus Christ and devote your life to Him. You shall do what God, Si Jesus, and the Holy Spirit say.
Only when you walk after the Spirit and live according to what the Word says, you walk in faith.
You will keep standing in the faith, despite your circumstances. You shall stay faithful to the Word and be persistent in prayer.
When you walk in faith, you shall walk according to the will of the Father and please Him. You shall seek those things which are above instead of the things which are beneath, on this earth.
Abusing the grace of God for the lusts of the flesh
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth? (Lucas 18:8)
Jesus knew the weaknesses of the old man, who walked after the flesh and belonged to the unfaithful generation (the Adamic nature). Jesus knew, that in the end times, many false teachers and preachers would come with their own philosophies, mga opinyon, and worldly knowledge.
False preachers, who tolerate and accept sin and abuse the grace of God to continue living in sin, and mock the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s why Jesus said to His disciples, when Jesus comes, will He find faith on the earth?
