My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof (Proverbs 1:15-19)
The Father warns His son, to not walk in the way of the sinners; those who don’t know God and don’t want to obey Him. He instructs him, to refrain his foot from their path, and don’t go with them. Because their feet will always run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
Sinners walk on the path of unrighteousness, and their actions are not always proper, but evil. They are greedy of gain, and shall do everything they can to get what they want. They don’t even mind to harm someone else and shed blood, whenever they need to. Everything is allowed to them, and every kind of moral value is swept away. But by their own actions, they dig a hole for themselves. Because their evil actions, will eventually take away their life.
But the just shall refrain their foot from the path of unrighteousness. They shall walk on the path of righteousness and shall walk in integrity. Even if this path of righteousness means less gain. The just shall not be tempted by money or be led by greed of gain. But the just shall be led by the Spirit and shall walk after the Spirit in the way of the Lord.
