Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee (Proverbji 4:5-6)
David taught his son Solomon in the fear of the Lord. He taught him to get wisdom and understanding. He commanded Solomon to keep his words in his heart, and not decline from the words of his mouth. This also applies to you, as a Christian. As soon as you become born again in the spirit, you have to renew your mind with the Word of God. As the new creation; son of God, you should gain His wisdom and understanding. The only way to find spiritual wisdom and understanding is from the Word of God.
How do you get wisdom and understanding as a new creation?
Before you became a new creation, you were carnal and your mind was filled with the knowledge of this world. The devil was your father, the father of this world, and therefore you were raised in his knowledge, which is the wisdom of this world. Your mind was conformed to the mind of this world.
But when you became a new creation, you were transferred into another Kingdom and received a new Father; your true Father. You became born by His Spirit, and therefore you became His son. Your mind is still the same and still thinks like the world.
Therefore it’s important to renew your mind with the Word of God, so that you will get to know the will of the Father, and get wisdom and understanding.
When you get to know the will of the Father and get wisdom and understanding, you will walk in His way. You will walk in faith as a son, just like Jesus walked in faith upon this earth.
But you can only walk in faith as the new creation; a son of God, by renewing your mind with the Word of God. As long as your mind is not renewed, you will stay carnal and walk as the old creation.
The Father wants you to gain wisdom and understanding from His Word. He wants you to keep His words, and not decline from His words.
When you stay loyal and don’t forsake the Word, then the Word shall preserve you. When you love the Word and show that by your actions, then the Word shall keep you.
