Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, came to the earth to do the will of His Father. Jesus came to deliver people from every oppression of the devil. In the four Gospels, we read that Jesus the Healer healed all the sick and all those, who were oppressed by the devil. We don’t read anywhere in the Bible that Jesus left anyone sick. Jesus never said to a person, “You have deserved this, because you have committed sin”. No! Jesus healed them all. The sin or unbelief of a person didn’t stop the healing and/or deliverance. Jesus didn’t wonder why or how the person became sick, nor did Jesus condemn the sick person. Jesus did not look at the cause and wasn’t digging in the past, searching for so-called generational curses or spiritual gateways, but Jesus just healed the person.
Go, and sin no more
But when Jesus did heal a sick person, Jesus often said to the person, ”go, and sin no more”. In John 5:14, Jesus said to the impotent man, who was healed, “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”.
Jesus said, ‘go and sin no more’ because Jesus knew, that the devil would always try to come back to a person and take possession again of the body and/or soul. The devil enters through disobedience to the Word (Read also: ‘Disobedience to God).
When you sin, you disobey the will of God and obey the will of the devil. Therefore you submit yourself to the devil, because you listen to – and obey the devil.
That’s why it is important to be filled with the Holy Spirit and renew your mind and build yourself up in the Word of God, so that you will get to know the will of God. It’s so important to get to know His will, because if you don’t know the will of God, how can you walk in His will and do His will on earth?
If you don’t know the will of God, you shall easily fall into the trap of the devil.
Jesus defeated the devil, and the devil has no authority to come into someone’s life, but the devil still has the ability, because the devil has not been cast into the eternal lake of fire yet.
Jesus exposed the works of the darkness
Jesus exposed the works of darkness; the works of the devil, by setting people free from every sickness and demonic bondage.
During Jesus’ walk on this earth, He was the light of this earth. Now that we are seated in Jesus Christ, we are the light of this earth. He was the light, and as He walked in the light, so should we walk like Him in the light.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16)
For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8)
Jesus walked after the Spirit
Jesus knew who He was; He knew His authority and walked in that authority. Jesus walked after the Spirit and not after the flesh, therefore His faith was unlimited. He had all the faith, He needed, to set people free.
When we look at all the healings that took place, we see that all people were healed, because of His faith; His faith in the Father. Jesus loved and knew His Father. His Father had taught Him and therefore Jesus spoke and did, what He had seen His Father doing. Jesus did all the works in His Father’s Name; by faith in Him.
I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father (John 8:38)
How did Jesus heal the sick?
How did Jesus the Healer heal the sick? Jesus the Healer healed all the sick by His faith in God. The persons, who were sick or possessed of the devil, were not healed and delivered by their own faith. NO!
In Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:9-29 and Luke 9:37-43, we read the reason, why His disciples couldn’t deliver the young boy, who was possessed by an evil spirit.
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? and Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:17-21)
The disciples could not deliver the young boy, because of their unbelief. Jesus continued and said, that this kind goes not out, but through prayer and fasting (Read also: ‘What is fasting?‘)
Many believers say, that the word fasting is not written in the original text, but is added by one of the translators. But is that true? Because according to the Word, when Jesus was talking about ‘this kind’, Jesus wasn’t referring to the evil spirit, who had possessed the young boy, but Jesus was referring to the unbelief of this generation; the old man, who is carnal and lives after the flesh and ruled by his senses, emotions, feelings, thoughts, etc.
Unbelief is in the flesh
Unbelief is in the flesh. Only when a person becomes born again in the spirit and renew his mind with the Word of God and begins to walk in the Spirit, a person will be able to walk in faith.
The disciples were not born again yet, so they were still carnal and walked after the flesh. The disciples were the old creation, who belonged to the generation of fallen man.
You can only walk in faith, if you die to the flesh and become born again in the spirit, and walk after the Word and the Spirit.
How do you die to the flesh? You die to the flesh, by prayer and fasting.
Lazarus and the Jairus’ daughter didn’t have faith to be raised from the death
Many believers say that you have got to have faith yourself to get healed. But if that would be true, then by who’s faith was Lazarus and Jairus’ daughter raised from the dead? Lazarus and Jairus’s daughter were both dead. Therefore they could not have faith for their own resurrection.
When we look at the story of Lazarus, no one believed that Lazarus could be resurrected from the dead. They saw a dead Lazarus and the proof of the fact that he was dead was the terrible odor (John 11:1-45).
But Jesus the Healer saw the spirit of death, who had taken dominion of the body of Lazarus and knew the spirit of death. Jesus spoke in the authority of His Father and commanded the death to give back Lazarus. The death had to obey Jesus Christ and so the death released Lazarus and gave Lazarus back. Lazarus was resurrected by Jesus His faith!
Therefore, if a person, who is sick comes to you and you lay hands on that person, but the person doesn’t get well. Then don’t blame the person.
Did Jesus the Healer heal everyone?
But… you might say: ”Jesus did not heal everyone! The bible says that because of their unbelief in His own town, He could not do miracles”.
There are many believers, who use this scripture to justify themselves when a sick person on whom they lay hands or pray for don’t get healed. They don’t look at themselves and blame themselves, instead, they put the blame on the sick person. But this should really stop!
If someone lays hand on a sick person and that sick person doesn’t get healed, then it is NOT because of the lack of faith of the sick person, but it is because of the lack of faith of the person, who is laying hands on someone.
Why couldn’t Jesus the Healer heal everyone?
Now, in order to find out the truth about this scripture, let’s go to Mark 6 and have a look at what is really written in the Word of God.
In Mark 6 we read that Jesus came to Nazareth. The people who lived there knew Jesus as the son of Joseph, the carpenter, and not as Jesus, the Son of God. They had known Him for 30 years. Because of that, they did not bring the sick and those, who were possessed of the devil to Him. Why? Because they did not believe, that the son of Joseph the carpenter could heal them. The Word says, that they were even offended.
In the other cities, they didn’t know Jesus as the son of Joseph the carpenter, but they knew Jesus the Healer. The Man, Who healed people. Therefore they brought those who were sick to Jesus.because they believed that Jesus could heal them.
But in Nazareth they didn’t believe that Jesus could heal them.
Because of that, many people, who were sick and oppressed, by the devil, stayed sick and oppressed and where not healed nor delivered.
But Jesus did have the power to heal all those, who were sick. How do we know? Because it is written, that Jesus laid His hands upon a few sick folk and healed them (Mar 6:5).
If there was no power at all, Jesus could not heal them either. If all the inhabitants of Nazareth brought all those, who were sick to Jesus the Healer and laid them at His feet, then Jesus would have healed them all. Jesus would have set them all free and the whole city of Nazareth would be freed from the devil as occurred in the other cities (Read also: Why couldn’t Jesus do many mighty works in His hometown?).
Jesus the Healer still heals everyone
As Jesus did the works of His Father, we should do the works of Jesus, because the Father has given all authority to His Son. Because we, the church, are seated in Him, we have received all power and authority in Jesus Christ to walk in His dominion and reign over the darkness
As Jesus the Healer healed everyone, we should also, by faith in His Name and by the power of the Holy Spirit heal those, who are sick and/or oppressed by the devil.
The great commission of Jesus Christ
Before Jesus went to the Father, He commanded all those, who would believe in Him and would follow Him, in Mark 16:15-20:
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe;
- In My name shall they cast out devils;
- they shall speak with new tongues;
- They shall take up serpents;
- and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
- they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mar 16:15)
If you love Jesus, you will keep His commandments
Jesus said in John 14:15: If you love me, keep my commandments. Jesus instructed His disciples; His followers, how they should walk. These instructions and commandments are still valid for Today. If you believe in Jesus and you are His disciples then you should do, what He has commanded you to do.
Let’s not have all kinds of excuses anymore. But do the things, which Jesus has commanded you to do.
Unfortunately, this message is not preached in many churches. But I would like to encourage you to study the Word of God and find out the truth for yourself.
It is important for believers to study the Word of God. Because there are many false teachings and doctrines, which are inspired by the devil (doctrines of man) and have entered many churches.
These false doctrines have caused the church to rely on man’s wisdom and power and therefore the church has become powerless and seated in darkness.
Let’s not tolerate that anymore and begin to study the Word of God, so that you will find out, who you really are and find out the truth and walk according to the truth. Be sanctified by the Word of God and live a holy life, according to the will of God.
