Let your eyes look right on – Proverbs 4:25

What does Proverbs 4:25 mean, Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you?

Don’t look back!

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee (Proverbs 4:25)

Don’t look back! Because if you do look back, you become a salt pillar, just like Lot’s wife. The angel of the Lord commanded Lot and his family, to leave their city and not look back. But Lot’s wife became disobedient to the word of God. She looked back and became a pillar of salt.

When you become a new creation in Jesus Christ, your old life has gone, and your new life in Christ begins. But when you keep looking back to your former life, and can’t let go of the past, you will become a pillar of salt.

Let your eyes look right on and don’t look around

Don’t look around either. Because when you look around, you become distracted from your goal. But let your eyes look right.

The Father has a plan for your life. He has created you for a special purpose that only you can fulfill.

You can only fulfill His plan if you stay in His will, and stay obedient to Him and His Word.

God doesn’t want you to become distracted by other people, situations, circumstances, problems, the things of this world, etc. but He wants you to keep your eyes upon the Word; upon Jesus, and look forward and keep walking forward.

When your eyes stray to other Christians and their position in the ministry, or their success and prosperity, you might become discouraged. If you become discouraged, there is a possibility that you might give up. This is not what God wants.

You are unique

The Lord doesn’t want you to compare yourself to others. He doesn’t want to look at other people’s lives and envy them. Remember that you are unique and the Lord has a plan for your life!

You are made for a special purpose, that only you can fulfill. But it’s up to you, whether you want to fulfill God’s plan in your life or not. Because the Lord has given you a free will, you may decide.

When you want to fulfil His plan for you life, than your eyes need to look forward and your eyelids should look straight before you, all the time.

Don’t be distracted by what is happening around you. Don’t look at other people. But keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, your Leader. Follow Jesus, and stay in Him; the Word.
