Eseng maikutlo aka, empa maikutlo a Hao

Hang ha o fetoha sebopuwa se setjha ho Jesu Kreste mme o tloswa mmusong wa lefifi ho kena Mmusong wa Modimo, nako ea maikutlo a hau e felile. When you become a son of God and a follower of Jesus Christ, then it’s not about what you think, find and feel, but it’s about what He thinks, finds and feels. It’s not about your opinion, but it’s about His opinion.

As long as you keep walking after the flesh and fill your mind with the things of this world, your mind and your walk will be like the world and your flesh will rule in your life. But the Word says, that a carnal mind is enmity against God, because the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God, which represents God’s will

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts (Isa 65:2)

Gonne ba ba ka fa nameng ba tlhokometse dilo tsa nama; empa ba ho ya ka Moya ke tsa Moya. Hobane ho beha kelello nameng ho bolela lefu; empa ho beha kelello moeeng ho bolela bophelo le khotso. Hobane kelello ea nama ke bora ho Molimo: hobane ha e laolwe ke molao wa Modimo, leha e le hore ho ka ba joalo. Ka baka leo, ba nameng ba ke ke ba kgahlisa Modimo (ROM 8:5-8)

A carnal mind thinks like the world. It is a worldly mind, that is created after the knowledge and wisdom of the world, and what people think, bolela, feel, find and experience. A carnal mind is focused upon itself and adjust the Word of God to its own opinion, findings and feelings. Because of the pride that is present in the carnal mind, the carnal mind of the old creation shall always rebel against God and will never be able to submit to God and His Word. Ka hona, the carnal mind is not able to please God.

Divisions among God’s children

Due to the fact, that not every believer has laid down his own opinion, and has not exchanged his opinion for the opinion of God, there are so many divisions among the children of God. Many believers hold on to their own opinion, instead of searching the scriptures in order to find out what the Word says and adopt and apply the opinion of God in their lives.

Leha ho le joalo, when you search the scriptures it is important, that you read the Word in the Holy Spirit and in the right context because otherwise, you will still be able to manipulate and change the words of God in such a manner, that it will fit your own opinion and your will.

But a complete devotion and submission to Jesus Christ means to give up your own will and your own opinion, and let His will and opinion become your will and opinion. You have chosen to follow Jesus and to serve Him. If you are not willing to do that, then why do you call yourself a Christian and why do you go to church?

Jesus represented the will of the Father

Jesus has given us the example, how we should walk as sons of God. Jesus didn’t speak His own words, but He spoke the words of God. He only did the things, that He had seen His father do and what He had learned from His Father. Yes, Jesus represented the will of His Father.

will of God vs will of the devilJesus answered them, mme a re, My doctrine is not Mine, but His that sent Me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh His glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him (Jn 7:16-18)

We should walk as Jesus walked. Because we are His representatives and represent the same Kingdom. Ka hona, we should know the will of the Kingdom, so that we can live as inhabitants of the Kingdom. In everything you do and say, and in every situation, you should ask yourself “what does the Word say?”

The more you renew your mind with the Word, the more your mind will line up with the way God thinks and His will.

If you meet someone, who has a question or a problem, then it’s not about what you think about the matter, situation, problem etc. It’s not about your opinion, but it’s about what God says in His Word. His Word is and speaks the truth, and that’s why only His Word brings forth salvation, thabo, kgotso, and life.

Who is speaking the truth?

The world relies on science and human philosophy. But many times it happens, that science has created a theory, based on scientific proof, that the world supports and consider as the truth, but after a few years, the theory will be replaced by another theory, based on new scientific discoveries, that contradict the first theory. Therefore we can consider the first theory as being untrue, or a lie. But who speaks the truth? Who can you believe and trust? The only one, who speaks the truth is Jesus; Lentswe.

manner of love the Father has bestowedThe Word speaks the truth because the Word is the truth. That’s why the Word is the only thing in life, you can trust and rely on. When you take the words of God and renew your mind with His words, then your mind will think and speak like Jesus; Lentswe. His thoughts will become your thoughts, and His will becomes your will.

If you speak His words, you will speak the truth. His truth might be considered harsh and can be confronting and may even cause pain. But remember, that you are the salt of the earth (Mat 5:13). The salt purifies, but it is also used to heal wounds.

If someone, you meet has ‘a wound’ and you speak the true words of God into the person’s life, then it will be like salt in a wound. It may be painful in the beginning, but in the end, it will heal the wound. Because the Word brings healing, kgotso, and life to those, who want to hear and receive His Word.

But as long as you keep giving your own opinion, that is inspired by your flesh and the world, and as long as you keep giving your own view on matters, situations, and problems, then your words will have no or little power. That’s because your words derive from your flesh and represent the view and opinion of the world, instead of the view and opinion of God and His Word. Only if you speak His words, He will empower them. And because will empower His words, His words will produce peace and life in your life and in the lives of others.

A follower of Jesus glorifies Him and not people

If you are a follower of Jesus and represent Him, you can no longer be a friend of the world. The old carnal man wants to stay friends with the world and wants to please everyone because they are afraid of rejection. Therefore they adjust their words to what other people want to hear. But your job is not to please people, but to please Him. Because if you have decided to follow Jesus, be His servant and serve God, you don’t seek your own glory and the glory of people, but the glory of Him.

Yes, you shall serve people through the Word. But even if you serve people, you are not their servant, but you are God’s servant. He is your Lord. That’s why you shall do what He wants and say what He says, and live after His will. You cannot always talk smooth, and please people all the time, with your words and deeds. If you want to please people and seek their acceptance, then you cannot be a servant of Christ. Because as long as you speak carnal words, that derive from your flesh; maikutlo, maikutlo, tse fumanoeng, opinion, and will, that is based upon the wisdom and knowledge of this world, you shall never be able to really help people. You can temporary comfort and soothe their ego and their spirit of self-pity, but that’s it.

But are you allowed and entitled to have your own opinion?

The world promotes people to develop their own opinion and will. Because it’s important and good if you develop your own personal opinion. At school children learn from a young age, to not only develop a personal opinion and a will, but they also learn to respect the opinions of others. Because the world says, that everyone should respect the opinions of others.

But is that really true? Does the world really allow others to have their own personal opinion? Hobane, if a believer has an opinion, that lines up with the Bible, but deviates from the world, then suddenly the world doesn’t respect and allow this opinion anymore. Then they will become angry and accuse the believer of all kinds of things.

If your opinion represents God’s opinion, then you are no longer allowed and entitled to have your own opinion. All opinions are being respected, except the opinions of God’s people and HIs children. In this behavior of the world, we see the power of the devil working in the lives of many people, including believers, who have a carnal.

Kelello ya Kreste

When you nchafatsa kelello ea hao with the Word of God, your mind shall more and more begin to look like His mind. By renewing your mind, you shall get the mind of Christ. Hona ho bolela, that His thoughts will become your thoughts, His mind will become your mind and that’s why His opinion becomes your opinion.

This renewal is part of the process of sanctification when you tlosa monnamoholo le put on the new man. Sebakeng sa moya, the old man has become a new creation in Christ. Ka hona, it’s time, that what has been taken place in the spiritual realm, will become visible in the natural realm.

As long as believers hold on to their own opinion and findings, then this renewal has not fully been taken place yet. The believers are still carnal, which means that their flesh and the world (tsamaiso) rule as king in their lives. They are the ones, who sit on the throne of their lives, instead of Christ. As long as believers hold on to their own opinion, they will keep representing the world instead of the Kingdom of God.

It is written…….

Don’t look and listen too much to what the world says because it will only become hindrances in your mind and slow down your spiritual growth. If you keep listening to what the world says, and listen to her words, theories and methods, and believe and apply them into your life, you will keep having the mind of the world, and base your opinion upon the wisdom and knowledge of the world.

Only if you study the Word and be filled with the words of God and the things of His Kingdom, you shall be able to represent Him and His opinion. It’s important, to take time and listen to what He wants to say to you. If there are scriptures in the Bible that you don’t understand, it’s good to repeat these scriptures, meditate on them and ask the Holy Spirit for clarification. If you do that, then He will enlighten His words in your spirit, and reveal them to you, so that you will understand His words and they will become alive in you.

The more His words will become alive in you, and you adopt His opinion, the more you will become a reflection of Him on this earth.
