What does Proverbs 6:10-11 mean, Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep, so shall thy poverty come as one that travels, and thy want as an armed man?
What is the meaning of Proverbs 6:10-11?
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travels, and thy want as an armed man (Proverbs 6:10-11)
Christians should feed themselves daily with the words of God, pray, stay awake, and watch. However, many Christians have fallen asleep and slumber. They’re not spiritually awake and don’t read and study the Bible daily. They don’t obey the words of God in their lives and are not doers of the Word of God. As a result, their poverty has come, as one that travels, and their want as an armed man.
Through Christ, His blood, and regeneration in Him, they have been made rich. But because of their ignorance and lazy attitude, all they have received in Him has been slowly taken from them.
This didn’t happen overnight, but it happened slowly, very slowly.
Every day they do a little bit less for Jesus and the Kingdom and a little bit more for the world.
They spend a little bit less time reading and studying the Bible and a little bit more time on the things of this world.
Christians ought to know that the devil is a thief and a destroyer and will not leave Christians alone. The de will enter through their ignorance, rob them, and take everything they have. Unless, they wake up and see what he is doing in their lives and the world, and stop the devil and his army.
Wake up and arise!
Therefore, wake up and arise! Demand, and take back what the devil stole from you. Repent, turn back to God, and take your position in Christ in the Heavenly Places. Because that’s your position, as a born-again believer. Don’t stay spiritually asleep but arise, be awake and stay awake!
