He that reproves a scorner gets to himself shame: and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blot (Proverbs 9:7-8)
We are not allowed to reprove (correct) a scorner or rebuke a wicked man, who lives in sins. We may warn them, but that’s all we may do. But why are we not allowed to reprove, or rebuke them? Because they live in darkness and not in the light; they are not part of the body of Christ.
They are not transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the light. But they live in darkness and walk after their flesh. They don’t know any better than to live that way. So, how can we correct, rebuke or chastise them, if they don’t know what we are talking about. And besides that, they are already judged, so why do we have to judge them?
The commandments of God are foolishness to the wicked man
The Kingdom of God is foolishness to them, therefore the commandments of God and the commandments of Jesus, are also foolishness to them.
Think about the time, that you lived without Jesus. You didn’t want to have anything to do with the Bible; the Word of God and considered it foolishness. You lived after the lusts and desires of your flesh and did what you wanted to do. Your flesh reigned as king in your life, and your spirit was dead.
Because of the fact that your spirit was still dead, you were not able to comprehend and understand the things of the Kingdom of God, because the Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom.
You lived like the world and was one of them. You thought you lived a good life, and that there was nothing wrong with your life, until you met Jesus Christ, and the light turned on in the darkness.
Because of the Light, you saw your sinful state. Jesus revealed to you your sins and iniquities, and because of that, you were able to repent of your walk, which was full of sins and iniquities. You didn’t want to live that way anymore (in darkness; in sins and iniquities), but you wanted to live a new life in the light. You repented, you laid down your life by the baptism in water and became born again in the spirit, through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. After you became born again, you were able to comprehend and understand the things of the Kingdom of God.
The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin
The Holy Spirit lives inside of you, and only He can reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He doesn’t need your mouth unless someone specifically asks you for information about a matter, only then shall you open your mouth and speak the words of God and His opinion.
And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged (Jn 16:8-11)
We may not judge, reprove, rebuke or chastise those, who live outside of the Body of Jesus Christ because they are not a part of His Body. The wicked man, who lives without Jesus is already judged, because the prince of this world, whom they serve is judged.
