His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray (Proverbs 5:22-23)
The person, who walks in iniquity, shall be taken captive by his own iniquities. He shall be holden with the cords of his own sin. By walking in sin, the person has chosen to walk in the will of his father; the devil. Because of the fact, that the devil is his father, he will be taken captive by him, because by his actions, he shows that he belongs to him.
Is everyone a sinner and taken captive by his own iniquities?
Every person, who is born on this earth is born as a sinner. Every person is born in the flesh, that is corrupted by the sinful nature. Only when a person dies to the flesh and becomes born again in the spirit, (s)he becomes a new creation in Jesus Christ, and becomes holy and righteous.
When a person is born again in the spirit, the person shall no longer walk after the flesh in sin, but shall walk according to his/her new holy nature, after the Spirit. The person has become holy and is seated in Jesus Christ. As long as the person abides in Him; the Word, and walks after the Spirit, the person shall walk in holiness and righteousness.
The destination of those, who won’t listen to the Father
But if a person stays carnal and keeps living after the flesh, (s)he shall keep living in sin and iniquity. The person shall be led by the flesh and therefore live in bondage of the flesh. The person shall be taken captive by his/her own iniquities and shall walk on the path of the wicked; the path of unrighteousness, which will lead to eternal death.
Unfortunately the people, who walk on the path of unrighteousness, are not willing to listen to the instruction of the Lord. They’ve rejected the Word of God and are not willing to listen to the Word and the instruction of the Father. They have chosen to obey their flesh instead of obeying the Spirit
Every person, who won’t accept Jesus Christ; the Word, is a fool for the Lord. The person rather choses to walk in his own greatness and folly; his own wisdom, which is the wisdom of this world, then in the wisdom of God.
The Lord considers the wisdom of this world as foolishness. If people choose to walk in this foolish wisdom, they will be lost and shall not find out the truth, which leads to eternal life. Only when a person repents of his/her walk, and accepts Jesus Christ; the Word, and becomes born again in the Spirit, and begin to walk in holiness and righteousness, (s)he shall be saved and shall find peace and life.
