In the previous blogposts, the waiting for the promise of Jesus’ return and what signs shall take place in the end times was discussed. In Matthew 24, Jesus spoke to His disciples about the end of time, before His return. Jesus mentioned what signs shall take place.
Jesus not only mentioned the signs, but Jesus also warned His disciples, for the many deceptions that shall take place at the end of the last days (Read also: How do you recognize false prophets in our time?, ‘Doctrines of devils are killing the Church‘, the occult church, and New age in the church?).
As long as you stay focused on Jesus and take His words, obey His words, and live according to His Word, then you shall not be deceived and the Day of the Lord shall not come as a surprise, but you shall stay in His peace and endure until the end.
The Jesus’ return and the end times
There are many more passages in the Bible about the end times and the return of Jesus. But for now, I only wanted to look at what Jesus said to His disciples, about the end times and what will happen before Jesus returns.
If you are curious about what signs shall take place before the return of Jesus, before His coming, I would like to advise you to read the Book of Matthew chapter 24.
In Matthew 24 Jesus said:
- Take heed that no one deceives you
- You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars
- There shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes
- They shall deliver you up to be afflicted, and kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for My name’s sake
- Many shall be deceived by false prophets
- The love shall wax cold
- The abomination of desolation
- The gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world
- False christs and false prophets shall arise and shall shew great signs and wonders
- There shall be darkness
- Every one shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory
- Learn from the fig tree
- No one knows the day and the hour
- The Day that the Son of Man shall return will be like the days of Noah
- Awake and watch
What must you do in the meantime?
Watch and be prepared to meet Him! Build yourself up in your most holy faith. Sanctify yourself in the Holy Ghost; walk in holiness, walk according to the Word of God in obedience to Him.
Encourage each other. When you see someone falling away from the faith or step into a trap of the devil and sin, warn and correct that person and call that person to repentance. When you notice, that someone is falling asleep, poke that person so that (s)he shall stay awake and watch. Follow Jesus and do the works, that Jesus has commanded you to do, which are:
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:15-18)
