What does the Bible say about walking in love? Do you walk in love, when you are kind to people and tolerate and approve all things, including sins and iniquities? Many Christians think that when you walk in love, you shouldn’t be harsh and judgmental. But you should respect and accept everyone, including their lifestyle, habits, sins, and iniquities. Because of this new-age mindset, many churches don’t represent Jesus Christ anymore. They don’t preach and represent the Kingdom of God and the will of God. Instead, they have become a social entertainment business that is based upon worldly principles and carnal doctrines of man. In many churches, sin and iniquity abound and there is little or no more power of God at all. Let’s look at what Jesus says about walking in love. When do you walk in love according to the Bible?
What does the Bible say about walking in love?
As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love. If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love (John 15:9-10)
What does walking in love mean according to the Bible? According to the Bible, walking in love means keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ. When you walk in love, you will keep His commandments. Todėl, only when you keep His commandments and stay obedient, and do what the Word tells you to do, only then shall you walk in love.
As written in previous articles, the love for your neighbour begins with your love for Jesus Christ; Žodis. You are seated in Him, in the Word. Therefore you should know the Word. You will only get to know Him by the Word (the Bible) because Jesus is the Word.
When Jesus is your first love, and when your love for Him is greater than the love for your ‘self’ and the world, and all there is within, only then shall you be able to love your neighbour as yourself. (Taip pat skaitykite: ‘What does it mean you shall love your neighbour as yourself?‘)
When you love out of the flesh, out of your emotions and feelings, then your love belongs to the ‘death works’. But when you love out of the Spirit, you shall first love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. You shall not walk according to your understanding, findings, and opinions. But you shall walk according to what the Bible says and love your neighbour as yourself. You shall forgive others and have compassion for people.
Jesus walked in love
Jesus walked in the commandments of His Father. Therefore Jesus walked in love. Jesus wasn’t a wishy-washy, Who approved and accepted all things of man. He didn’t always speak gentle words, but Jesus spoke hard words. (Taip pat skaitykite: Who is Jesus really?).
Jesus did not compromise and didn’t accept all kinds of behavior that opposed the will of His Father. And Jesus certainly did not approve of sin. But Jesus reproved man of their sins. Because Jesus knew, that sin is rebellion and disobedience to the word of God and leads people into the bondage of the devil and will lead to eternal death.
Jesus brought salvation to those, who lived in the bondage of sin. Jesus came to set the captives free. He taught the people the Word of God. Many people listened to His words and believed Him and repented of their sins. They gave up their life as a sinner and became obedient to Him. They obeyed His words and followed Him.
How do you walk in love?
Jesus is your Example. Just as the Father sent Jesus and Jesus submitted Himself to the Father and Jesus walked in love by keeping the commandments of His Father, so are sent by Jesus and you should submit yourself to Jesus; the Word and walk in love by keeping His commandments (2 John 1:6).
The saints need to admonish each other in love. So that every believer keeps walking in love on the narrow path that leads to eternal life.
When you see a brother or sister living in sin, falling back into sin every now and then, becoming disobedient to the Bible, or going after another doctrine that is not in agreement with the Word of God, then it’s your duty to admonish and gently correct your brother or sister.
If you love your brother and sister, you will admonish and/or correct him or her. So that the person can repent and be saved. (Taip pat skaitykite: ‘Whom the Lord loves He chastens and scourges’)
If you don’t care about your neighbour, you keep your mouth shut. You will accept everything this person does and let him or her keep on walking in rebellion and disobedience to God; in sins and iniquities, on his or her way to hell.
But if you do care about your neighbour and have the compassion of Jesus Christ, then you shall open your mouth, preach the truth of God’s Word, and reprove him or her of sin. By doing that, you will give life to the person and prevent the person from going to hell.
Therefore walk in Jesus’s love; love Jesus and keep all His commandments.
