When wisdom enters into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words; Which forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous (Proverbs 2:10-20)
The wisdom of God
You need the wisdom of God in your life, so that you know what is good and what is evil and that you will be able to live according to His will. When you have the wisdom of God, you will be able to stand and to keep walking on the path of righteousness, in this evil world.
Just like, you need a manual for a new gadget, you also need God’s Word; the Bible for your daily life. The Word is your mirror and your goal in life should be to become like the Word; Jesus.
When you study and meditate on His Word, and apply His Word in your life, then the wisdom of God shall enter into your heart, and the knowledge of God in your soul. You shall become discrete, and full of understanding.
Due to the fact, that the wisdom of God dwells in your heart, discretion shall watch over you, and understanding shall keep you from the way of the evil man, and the strange woman:
The way of the evil man
- Is the way of the man, who speaks froward things;
- Is the way of those, who leave the paths of uprightness, in order to walk in the ways of darkness;
- Is the way of those, who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths
The strange woman
- flatters with her flattering words,
- forsakes the guide of her youth (who leaves her husband),
- forgets the covenant of her God.
- her house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
- None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
When you are filled with the wisdom of God, and keep His commandments, then you shall not enter the way of the evil man, and the strange woman (the way of darkness). Instead, you shall walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
