My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck (Példabeszédek 6:20-21)
Honor your father, and your mother, so that you shall have a long life. That’s a commandment and a promise of the Lord, our Father. It is important for the Lord, that you will obey your parents and submit yourself to them. Why is this important? Because the parents are ambassadors of the Kingdom of Heaven. They are representatives of the Most High God. When you don’t obey your parents, and don’t submit to their will, then how can you obey God and submit to Him?
When a you grow up and want to go your own way. When you don’t honor your parents, by not obeying to them and by not doing their will, be rebellious towards them etc., then when you grow up, it shall be very hard for you to submit to the Lord, and to obey Him, and do His will.
As long as the will of a child, will not be ‘broken’ during childhood, the child shall always want to do his/her own will. The will of the child can become a bottleneck in the rest of his/her life. It is therefore important as a parent, to raise a child in the fear of the Lord; in His Word, and to teach the child to be obedient and correct them.

For you, as a child, it’s important to obey your parents. Listen to the commandment of your father and to the law of your mother, that are inspired by the Word. Bind them upon your heart and tie them about your neck, so that they won’t leave you. Think about them everyday, and walk in it. Do not depart from them.
You should know, that your parents love you, and only want the best for you. Just like the Father loves us, and has given us His commandments, because He only wants the best for us and keep us from harm.
